I used 4 cups into a large load of laundry, let the water fill up in the washing machine and let it soak for 12-24 hours depending on how bad the smell is. I had a waterproof king sized blanket that even after normal washes it still smelled like urine. The soaking helped a LOT **Q: I have a pee smell in an area of my carpet. Its been there for awhile. How much do I use? I sprayed it with a bottle last night and it still smells** A: Icky Poo will help but not the next day. You will need to spray & then wait for several days to a week then spray again. However if the urine is deep in the carpet & padding it is best to inject the formula in with a large surenge in various spots around the bad spot. The was Icky Poo works is that it eats the urine bacteria which causes the smell. Believe me. It works every time. **Q: How many gallons do I need to treat a carpet area of 10 feet X 20 feet? Thank you for your help in advance.** A: Great product! Probably one gallon. Treat it right out of the bottle 100% or Thin it with water 50/50 for large or heavy treatment areas. Let air dry or use a fan to speed curing times. If area still smells treat more than once with a reduced product like 25/1. As you treat a thinner mix is all you will need because it will continue to depleted the bacteria that is causing the order. I had extensive damage caused by multiple cats in a rental. I had to replace flooring and sheet rock in specific locations but the rest of the house was treated like I explained. We .moved in have not noticed a lingering of the pet smell. Just a friendly reminder. If cats or dogs have been in the residence you will have to have the ducts professionally cleaned due to areas not able to be reached with the pet treatment product to fully eliminate the pet ordor issues. Remove as much of the urine on the artificial turf as possible. Then spray on the Anti-Icky-Poo on the turf, covering all areas. The product must touch the contamination for it to work. Leave and allow to dry. If needed, do a repeat application. It is a safe enzyme/bacteria combination and will not harm the animals. However, keeping the animals off while it is working does help the effectiveness of the product. On our first night there, not knowing the bedroom door's lock was bunk, the (mean) boy cat broke in literally no less than 20 minutes after I went to bed & proceeded to spray & pee on EVERYTHING, terrorizing my cat & soaking the wall, the carpet, the carpet pad, all the way down to the wood floor underneath before I could wake up & get him out. I go for unscented products whenever possible cuz of her asthma/my own sensory issues, but my friend couldn't vouch for the unscented flavor of this personally so I took their word that it'd be light. And it was!!! It's just "pleasant" smelling as it dries--not really any specific smell, and then it GOES AWAY. Does not smell like chemical reek for any period of time after. When you're laying it down (especially if it's in the corner of a closet or some other super enclosed area) it IS a hold-your-breath kind of operation (I used a spray bottle to apply, so maybe it has to do with the spraying action?) cuz you have to soak it, but after that it's not something you have to clear the room over. I absolutely do not know how these guys have done it, but I do know they have cracked the code on busting pet stink so completely I never want to be without a bottle of this stuff. Absolute miracle.
