A: That is a question for the ad writer.  This wire can be used to wire an AC unit, a powered whole house air filter such as a Honeywell or Lennox that use the big filters.
If you need 12/2 romex type wire this is a good one.  Just a note.  Measure twice before ordering.  It is a bit stressful to find out that you are five feet short, and have to order more.

**Q: Why does the product description of 12/2 electrical wire describe a furnace filter?**
A: Maybe the proof reader is clueless as to what 12/2 wire is used for?

A: Yes, that should the right cable. Usually 12/2(20AMP) is for outlets and 14/2 for lights (15AMP)
