It is best to start with a thin layer from a new tube to maximally bond to the surface 2) Until it dries, Goop flows, alot. It's good at bonding surfaces that are different. It has saved so many items from the landfill including a dog harness, a wallet, hiking boots, tennis shoes, and it has so many other uses. I take one with me camping for emergency camping gear repairs. I also used it to put Velcro around the inside of my minivan so that I could have screens and sleep inside my minivan, and that is the one application I would not recommend.
