Yes these will work great for children that cannot tie their own laces. This specific product however is our boot lace which is a little thicker than standard laces, and also a little longer coming in at 72in while our original laces are 48in. Our Boot Lock Laces measure 72 inches in length with a lace diameter of 0.25cm, and are composed of 7 Elastic Strands.  While our Original Sneaker Lock Laces measure 48 inches in length, 0.22cm in laces diameter and are composed of 6 Elastic Strands.

These are great quality, I’ve got them on hiking boots and work boots. Once trimmed, I tie a square knot with 2 half hitches (locking knots) then cook the ends with a lighter instead of using the plastic stops Durable, easy to lace, fast cinch up
