However the heated aspect I am suspect about because part of the hose at least 2-3 feet that connect to the water source is not contained inside the heated reel and CAN freeze. 2nd day of using the reel water began pouring from inside the reel box onto the ground. There was no easy way to get the reel box apart to check the problem and I was never able to determine the leak. Amazon allowed us to return it and exchange. The new one has not leaked yet, but we also have not yet used it in freezing temps. I am concerned about the part that is not able to be put inside the box, even if drained. So still get freeze ups. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Innovative Design and a Manufacturer that Supports the Product. *by P***. on Reviewed in the United States on February 4, 2016* First I have to say I did not order this from Amazon but a pet supply company. We installed the hose in the barn after purchase last November and used it through March. We started again in November and this January (1 month after warranty expired) the hose on the reel developed a split. I tried to mend it as I knew it was out of warranty. I emailed the manufacturer to see if I could purchase a replacement hose. Within a couple of hours I had a reply back from the CEO saying it should have lasted longer and they were sending me a new one as replacing the hose was difficult. Today I received a whole new unit. The idea of the unit is great except for a couple of things. 1. Parts that can wear out (i.e. the hose) should be replaceable by the consumer. 2. As many people have noted the hose from the unit to the hydrant is NOT heated. You have to be meticulous about draining the unit after using. We found that an inexpensive, 6 foot heat tape applied to the external hose (with electric tape) has totally solved that problem. I love not hauling buckets in the barn in the winter but you have to be willing to be careful with how you use the unit. So, three stars for the Heated Hose Reel but 5 stars for a company that stands behind it's product.
