## Description

Receive module technical parameters： Product Type: MX-05V Working voltage: DC5V Quiescent current: 4MA Receiving frequency: 433.92MHZ Receiving sensitivity: -105DB Size: 30 * 14 * 7mm External antenna: 32CM single core, wound into a spiral Transmitter technical parameters： Product Type: MX-FS-03V Launch distance: 20-200 meters (voltage is different, the effect is different) Operating voltage: 3.5-12V Dimensions: 19 * 19mm Work: AM Transmission rate: 4KB / S Transmit power: 10mW Launch frequency: 433M External antenna: 25cm ordinary multi-core or single-core Pin arrangement from left to right: (DATA; VCC; GND) Remarks： VCC voltage and module voltage should be consistent, and to make the power filter; Antenna greatly affect the receiving effect of the module, the best access 1/4 wavelength antenna, generally using 50-ohm single-core wire, the length of the antenna 433M is about 17cm; The position of the antenna also affects the receiving effect of the module. When installing, the antenna should be as straight as possible, far away from the shielding body, high voltage and interference source. When using, the receiving frequency, decoding method and oscillation resistance should match with the transmitting. Package Included： 5pcs*433MHz RF Wireless Transmitter and Receiver Module

Review: First Try - It seems like these things have a high failure rate from the many different reviews with duds. I managed to Receive and Send with the first pair I picked out of the bag. Did not try the other 4 pairs. No noise from either module, range utilized for receive was about a foot and the range tested for send was 12 feet. Since this is already in working condition, I will not test further ranges.
Review: They Work! - They don't include an antenna, but it's easy enough to make your own out of a17.3mm long piece of wire. The first pair I tried worked very well as soon as the antenna was soldered on. I haven't done a range test yet, but they've gone through several walls in my house. I ran an all night test repeatedly sending transmissions and it was still working when I woke up. Hiletgo seems to be one of the better sellers of this type of stuff.

## Features

- Easy to use, nice range (using antenna on both), you can send strings (text) from one point to another. If you want to automate your house without pulling cables then this device will help you well
- Wireless Transmitter Modules allow your Arduino to wirelessly comunicate with other arduinos, or with radio frequency (RF) controlled devices that operate in the same frequency (433Mhz in this case)
- They work in pairs, meaning you need both a receiver and a transmitter to comunicate with each other
- Compatible with SparkFun’s 434MHz RF transmitter and RF receiver
- This Radio Transmitter & Receiver pair is perfectly matched to allow you to control items from a distance up to 500 feet wirelessly!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Will a greater voltage offer a greater range?**
A: I tried 3.3v but it doesnt work so better use 5v maximum. I have seen people commenting that you can loose the module on high voltage.

**Q: Where does the transmitter antenna go. does it goes in the tiny hole next to the ant? or does it go in the very corner of the pcb?**
A: With the transmitter 's data/vcc/gnd pins facing down, the user-supplied antenna goes int the top right corner.

**Q: 'about this item' says you can send text - it can't be that fast...how fast could i reliably expect to modulate this thing?**
A: This will largely depend on how quickly your controlling device can modulate a signal. If you can turn the transmitter on/off 4000 times per second, you can transmit 4000 bits per second using on/off keying. A standard ASCII character is 8-bits, so that would be 500 characters of text per second (without overhead of error correction and a signaling protocol).

**Q: I've tried all sorts of code and still can't make it to work. should i put an antenna? do you have schematics and code? please i need help.**
A: yes you have to add antenna, i used this module and IT WORKS!! the antenna has to be 1/4 of the wavelength, calculate it using c= wavelength * frequency, cut a piece of 22 gauge wire a little bit larger than 1/4, then with a cutting plier at hand start "tunning" the antenna (having it at the most optimal length for the frequency the module is working at), the process should be simple.

### ⭐ Not great quality
*by D***N on December 22, 2024*

Did it work? Yes. Did it work as good as I wanted it to? Absolutely not. I could only get about 3 inch range even with using antennas on transmitter and receiver. Even then it was very intermittent when the signal would reliably be sent/received. If you think these will just work at a long range - move along. Without an antenna they would not work at all. Some reviews and online videos claim you can get a few centimeters without an antenna, but I could not get them working at all with no antenna. I read some reviews that say they are missing a 2nd coil. And mine too did not have this 2nd coil. But other online sites say it is not needed and another part takes its place. I don't know enough about them to know if that is true, but if there was a revision you would think they take the time to fix the silk screen lettering issues !!! These modules are different when visually comparing to online videos that show how they work. The 2nd coil is not there on the transmitter. And on the receiver a lot of the videos show a large resistor on the board, and mine did not have the resistor. Also one commenter pointed out it is missing a capacitor...mine also did not have the capacitor. I soldered one in, but did not do my test with antenna but without the capacitor soldered in so I can not confirm if that is required or not.
