The lid/door for this one is perfect and just large enough to not struggle with putting things into the enclosure. It is also very sturdy, it doesn’t leak, the material (glass and metal framing) is great quality and doesn’t seem flimsy or too thin either. For versatility, it would be an amazing desk terrarium in general. I have some isopods in here as well and they love the humidity this terrarium holds!

A: This terrarium can be placed outdoors, but there is no drainage hole at the bottom,so it is recommended to move it indoors when it rains.

**Q: Is it air-tight?**
A: I have the $54 No Grid terrarium for snails, where there are holes on the top panel for air.  These terrariums close with a latch there is a slight gap between surfaces when the latch is closed.  The other models advertised for plants & succulents do not have air perforation which would give more of an airless enclosure however the door does not seal in an airtight fashion just a simple latch closure.

Perfect size for a garden snail, especially for one that is recovering from a broken shell. I absolutely love this NCYP house-shaped glass terrarium and it has been the star of our homeschool caterpillar project! The size was absolutely perfect—large enough to give our caterpillars plenty of space to move around and observe their metamorphosis, but compact enough to fit nicely on our learning table. The geometric house design is not only adorable and eye-catching, but it also provides excellent visibility from all angles, allowing my kids to watch every stage of the transformation without disturbing the caterpillars. The glass construction is crystal clear and high quality, making it so easy to take photos and videos for our nature journal, and the acrylic lid is lightweight yet secure.
