Review: It looks as advertised - On the outside looks great except for a few dings and dents but is just probably from shipping because there was no protection layer like bubblewrap it just came in a plastic bag. The paint looks nice but did a messy job on the inside and edges, some have pain some doesn't. About the positives it looks great and is easy to install the leather strap its also light and has a good holding mechanism. Overall a good product but needs improvement.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: In description, says not for daily use. what determines that? material? too thin? more insight would be nice. thanks**
A: daily use might include cooking in the messkit,
 which it wont tolerate
also daily use might leave acidic food in it too long
(tomato sauce,lemonjuice as salad dressing,etc)
 that can damage the aluminum
if you want daily use,you can,
but keeping it VERY clean would be a prerequisite

**Q: Is this one of the Chinese reproductions? It looks similar to one except this comes with the leather strap.**
A: Yes it is a Chinese reproduction.

**Q: Is this kit made from food grade aluminum?**
A: If it was good enough for ww2 soliders then its good enough for me .my canister is just for display....

**Q: Can i buy the strap by its self ?**
A: yes but not at amazon.at the front.com

This is the second one I got because my son and I enjoy using them for trail meals or just outdoor cooking. I have never had it side my side with a reai WWII one so I can't comment if it's a perfect replica but it does work as a good mess kit. The paint will burn off in high heat but I haven't had an issue with the paint on my second one only using an esbit stove.
