They hold pretty well, however they will slide if they don't catch anything on the bottom. Probably depends on the type of boat you have and the weight of the anchor. **Q: Will it hold a 16ft fishing boat?** A: It does a good job for my 24 foot pontoon boat as long as the wind is under 5 mph.
