It basically says that, unless exempted, businesses aren't allowed to expose prior to any of the chemicals on the Prop 65 list, without first giving a “clear and reasonable warning” (aka Prop 65 warning sticker on literally everything anyone in California touched, owns, or consumes). Oh yeah! And they aren't allowed to just chuck chemicals into any sources of drinking water all willy nilly. Here's where it starts feeling a little silly to with about- Since 1987, when the law was passed, that list has grown to over 900 (!!!) line items and contains a hug range of naturally occurring and synthetic chemicals, include additives or ingredients in pesticides, common household products, food, drugs, dyes, and solvents. There are many things listed that aren't even considered harmful to humans, let alone cancer causing. Even trickier? Companies also have to give warning if any listed chemicals have been used in the manufacturing of a product OR if their product causes a BYPRODUCT that's on the list (you know, like car exhaust). So, there you have it. This company isn't telling you that they're product is actively giving you cancer.
