I have read SOD can help with sunburns and sun related issues, but I am really shocked by what I am seeing in myself. Usually it would take 2-4 weeks, or maybe more, for me to heal from something like no sunscreen for 2 hours with a UV rating of 12. Also now I go out into the sun for about 15-20 mins a day (with no sunscreen) as often as I can to produce vitamin d (I am VDR BSM homozygous and cannot seem to increase my vitamin d any other way), and I have not burned once. That would be unheard of with me a couple years ago. I've been using SOD for about a little over a year and the sun thing is about the only thing different I've noticed since taking it. It might not be enough for some people but for now it's enough for me to keep taking it so I can continue to produce vitamin d naturally. It doesn't have quick results, so it is hard to say whether or not it is performing the way I want. My main reason for taking it is the reduction/elimination of tumors in lab mice. The tumors in the tests were genetically triggered, so it probably wouldn't work for everything, but it is non harmful and I have a lot of cancer in my family. Source Naturals and Metagenics are the only vitamin/supplement companies that I trust so far. I am sure there are others out there that are good, but I have been very disappointed by most vitamin brands. The brands in Target and Wal Mart are useless. I have gotten alfalfa capsules in my Goldenseal and corn capsules in alfalfa. It is also supposed to fight aging, but that is hard to gauge. My 84 year old dad, who has never taken supplements at all, can still do one armed pushups and touch his toes while standing on one leg.
