It takes 4 AAA batteries (not included) and is REALLY BRIGHT! It’s so bright that my husband almost complained that it wouldn’t work at night because it hurt his eyes, but he’s since come to see that it works just great.I installed this on the wall of the bathroom because we both get up to use it at night and the regular light kills our eyes and wakes us up too much. This one is great, but I have a few things I’m not absolutely crazy about. First, the 15 second timer. It should be at least 20-30 seconds because it goes off when you still need it! It does have a smart sensor in that if another light is on, it won’t turn on, but if it’s already on and then you turn on a main light, this one stays on until you turn the other one off, so that’s frustrating and a battery drain.I like the convenience of just having the magnet part stick to the wall (light is magnetic). This is nice if you need to change the batteries. It lights up our bathroom pretty well and my husband can activate it from the shower (it’s mounted on the door) so decent range as well.My husband and I live in the northwest and enjoy writing reviews for people like you! I'm only two hours in, but I love this light. I'm using this inside a quick access gun safe next to my bed. It's compact and does not interfere will pulling out my pistol. The safeviscsteal (obviously) and I love the fact that I can move it around. Sensor works great. If it dies in a few weeks, I'll update the review. I did make the mistake of trying to put 2 of them in the pantry next to each other. The problem with having to 2 in the same space is that one light will turn on fast, which will cause the other one to stay off. The only way I have seen both work together simultaneously is when it is absolutely pitch black in the middle of the night.
