I bleached my hair almost up to platinum blonde before applying the Sakura pink (which is more purple actually). My natural hair is a dark brown. I left the hair dye on for about 50 mins instead of the recommended 20-30 because in my experience my hair is pretty resistant to change and usually takes longer. I did a test strand and if you leave it on for less time the purple color will be lighter and if you leave it on longer it gets darker. Color is great. It lasts, too. Doesn't really fade much either. It does fade from the chemicals in a swimming pool, but just looks more faded and less pink...but it doesn't change colors. It's not harsh and leaves a great shine.
