I use this as a voice writing student with voice recognition software. I speak as my instructor recommends, in a low tone but not a whisper, and if there's no noise in the room, then someone might hear it as a low hum. Background noise might hide that completely. However, I occasionally will ask a family member to tell me if he can hear me speaking into it when I raise my voice, not super loud but slightly more than normal volume. He doesn't understand the words but can hear me speaking from another room so I can't imagine you being able to cancel out completely screaming into the mic, though it would probably muffle it. **Q: If you are already in a quiet and private environment, does this still improve accuracy for Dragon?** A: yes. **Q: Can i use this mic to communicate with other players while playing a pc game??** A: In theory, yes you could, however, I will say, there is no easy way to hold that to your mouth without straps, AND, it's not going to be the most comfortable either. I work primarily in court. I had high hopes for this new mask as I have been a loyal customer of talk technologies stenomask since 2008. I have never used any other mask. I have purchased several masks throughout the years. Lately in the past few years the quality of their masks has significantly gone down. This particular mask stopped working due to moisture I presume within just a few hours of use, even though it was packed with foam and shamwow. Even the wireless mask that i purchased was a dud. I contacted Nigel at Talk Technologies and rather than provide a solution like a replacement, he simply made ridiculous excuses and was no help at all. Unfortunately I cannot continue to recommend this company although I have to many reporters in the past. Unfortunately there are not many stenomask companies to choose from, so court reporters, the people they earn their living from, are stuck with no competition for the time being. I hate to leave bad reviews but they offered me no choice and they know who I am.
