I’ve bought the Oxo storage containers for years and love them. Well they lost a customer. God forbid if you drop these... everything falls out. Don’t hold by top or it will come off!! They surely didn’t do much testing on these lids before they put on the market. I’m not one to leave bad reviews usually the things I purchase I’ve researched and I’m happy with. These containers I bought in a store on a whim when I needed some new sizes... I had no idea they changed the lid till home. **Q: Whats the difference between the old and the new?** A: The silicone seal is a band on the old that fits into a groove the new has a square one that fits over the lid and according to oxo the new top is fully dishwasher safe the old just the seal. I prefer the old the new silicone seal the new version sometimes comes loose when lifting the lid and I would hand wash either way. Hope this helps. **Q: How do you get water out that is stuck inside the lid? The new lids don't seem to open up like the old ones.** A: There are two pieces on the inner lid that can be removed. The first is easy to remove, but sometimes the second one is more difficult. They are easy to open and close and all of them have sealed well. They look good and stack just fine. Also you can keep the larger ones at the back of the cupboard with the smaller ones in front sod you know what's there instead of scrabbling around. I use them for dry goods that we go through quite quickly and buy in larger packs, that are always being opened and shut - fettucini and other pastas, oats, grains and legumes, coarse salt etc and I like to keep a couple spare to store other stuff I open and want to keep fresh while we finish it. They'd be fine for the fridge etc. Be aware, there are not many smaller containers in this pack, and the size is just off for Australian packages - I mean where we might have x grams, they have y ounces and so the containers are just a bit smaller than our standard packs for your average product. Some of the containers (not the lids) have been through the dishwasher and came out ok, they are plastic though and I want them to last so I think it's better to hand wash them just because chemically plastic will become more brittle with repeated exposure to high temperatures.
