## Description

For centuries, sailors have handed down stories of the giant squid. They say this mysterious monster of the deep chases ships and battles whales. They say it can weigh up to 1,000 pounds and that its eyes can be as big as a human head! Are these stories fact or fantasy? Find out in this exciting beginning reader. Book Details: Format: Paperback Publication Date: 5/27/2003 Pages: 48 Reading Level: Age 5 and Up

Review: Easy read - Great book, speedy and secure delivery, easy to read, every bedtime!! Highly recommended .
Review: Perfect for Inquisitive Kid - My son can recite this book. We read as a bedtime story. He is 4- nearly 5 years old. He loves squid and this book has great pictures, great examples (a giant squid stretched across a baseball field!) and scientific facts mixed with the old myths (“scientists say no” this isn’t possible…) I think it’s a little outdated since I think they did get a giant squid on film in 2006? But we talk through that and how scientists keep making discoveries. I thought the talk of dead squid and photos of washed up carcasses would bother him but he is super interested and shows what scientists actually study! Great find - I love this keeps the interest and learning going!
