I'm happy to say that the replacement seems to work as expected, and doesn't seem to have the intermittent issue that the original one did, so I assume that the original was just defective. The only remaining issue is that the springs don't tend to hold it in very tightly, so that in my Miata it tends to bounce out and not stay connected. That's a common problem - lots of them have the same issue, but fixing that would improve this otherwise decent charger.Original review: This is a really nice looking charger but it just isn't reliable. Sometimes when I plug the phone in, it doesn't charge, sometimes it does. It isn't the phone or cable, when I switch chargers all is fine. Sometimes when it starts out not charging, it will start after 10 or 15 minutes. Bottom line, I can't depend on it, so it's of no use to me. At least it wasn't too expensive so I won't feel too bad about discarding it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Second one works great! *by D***K on July 31, 2016* It stopped working after 2 days. It heats up and heats up the cable also . Weird never had something like this happen before. Maybe I got a defective one?Update 11-1-16:Runshion sent me another charger without informing me, i guess they read my review. The new one i recieved works excellent! it does not heat up and charges really fast! My moto x Pure edition reads it as a turbo charger and charges incredibly fast. I waited for a month of use before posting just in case but so far so good! Kudos to runshion for standing by their product and sending me another one.
