**Q: Can I add these to my pond in southern ca to help reduce algae growth?**
A: In theory, yes; however, daphnia magna are eaten by fish and other aquatic animals. I would not recommend this because the customer would need to purchase quite a bit of the daphnia magna for this to even be remotely effective, and there is not guarantee that the customer would just be feeding the fish in the pond rather than eliminating the algae problem. 

Instead of daphna magna I would suggest that the customer purchase some of our aquatic plants, for example, the pond lilies. I would recommend that customer also go to a local plant nursery and inquire about other aquatic plant species that are native to Southern California. 

A combination of aquatic plants and daphnia magna would be a suitable start to try and get the algal growth under control.

**Q: How many generally come in a container?**
A: This item is sold by us for a classroom of 30 students, so the culture should have 30 if not more. Thank you.
