The handles are soft and have a nice "give" to them that allows for a firm yet comfortable grip. Unlike other handles I've used, the grip doesn't leave any imprints on my palms either. The fabric material is like those on other handles. Over time, I'm sure it'll show signs of wear. However, note the flared ends of the handles. Maybe this is supposed to mitigate wear and tear? Don't know but maybe. It's a different design I haven't seen on past handles. The D ring is thinner than others I've seen. For my set up it's just fine. Not sure about using these for really heavy weight training though.
