And really, I don’t remember reading any similar reviews, so it’s likely a one-off kind of thing. The product is in good condition otherwise, the paper itself isn’t damaged at all, so I won’t be returning it. Strathmore does sell a tracing paper pad if that’s what ur looking for. I use the layout pad for calligraphy and I don’t have a problem with ink smearing or bleeding. **Q: What exactly is this paper used for? it looks like tracing paper over another, thicker paper. why not just use tracing paper? what am i missing here?** A: I ordered this because it was required for my granddaughter’s college graphic design class. **Q: will prismacolor markers bleed through the paper?** A: The only "bleeding" problem I had was when when I went over lines too heavily. Normal light drawing didn't pose a problem.
