Review: The True Power Jack is tool that every flooring installer should have. I put felt pads on the bottom to protect the floor from any scratches. You could also just put it on top of a sheet of paper or cardboard to protect the floor. It very solid and is a very sturdy welded fabrication. If it is not abused, I am sure it is going to last a very long time. A great tool. I have been installing flooring for over 30 years and it is just what I need to replace the old pry bar.

**Q: Is this the same product as the one for $38? The pictures are identical.**
A: Don’t see one for $38 it works good for the money

**Q: What is the difference between a pull bar that is used with a mallot vs this product? Which is better to work with the corner rows of install?**
A: Unlike a pull bar you use a mallet with, this tool relies on the pressure from using the wall instead of your personal power. The tool does all the work. I really like this tool. The only time it is hard to use in when the framing of a house is crappy. Hope this helps.

**Q: Can this tool be used to bring a fully installed laminate plank floating floor back into place? We have gaps due to poor installation.**
A: If it is truly floating, and not nailed or glued down, maybe.  The tool provides a lot of horizontal pressure from a fixed object or wall to  help tongue and groove boards to have a flush seam.  But very warped boards will need to be replaced.  This tool will not work with click together boards.

**Q: Is it for hardwood flooring or for laminate?**
A: I expect it could be used for both, I used it for hardwood and it worked well.  If you use it for thinner laminate, you may need to use a piece of scrap under the jack to increase the thickness and keep it parallel to the flooring.

The True Power Jack is tool that every flooring installer should have. I put felt pads on the bottom to protect the floor from any scratches. This is not a pro tool, but those cost A LOT more money. Works decent in getting those last couple of boards against the wall. Won't be as tight as your floor nailer, but good enough. As others have noted, you need something under it to prevent it from scratching your floor. The bubble wrap it was sent it worked great for me, I used temp (rubber) cement to glue it to the bottom. I didn't find the release mechanism that difficult. Play with the tool for a while before you use it. Once you know how the pins work, releasing it is much easier. Used on 3/4 hickory Recommend this for the weekend warrior finishing up their floor, I would NOT recommend this for a pro who is going to do this a lot.
