## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works with handgun and smaller rifle rounds
*by on Reviewed in the United States April 18, 2023*

I and other people have shot this target with .22LR (plated and lead nose), 9mm (115 and 124gr), 7.62x39mm (FMJ, bi-metal round), .223 (FMJ, bi-metal round), 5.45x39 (FMJ, bi-metal), and 5.56 (M193 spec). It seems to have held up well to all of them, except for Igman 5.56 M193. The Igman round is known for being spicy (more/stronger propellant), and I noticed it's taking little chunks of metal out of the orange target each time. That being said, all of the other rounds I listed haven't done anything like that, and the orange steel target is holding up well otherwise. If a round hits on the very edge, it will take a small "bite" out of the metal, but I think that will happen with any AR500 target. It has nice spring tension, but there is a bolt that holds the target to the base and keeps the spring tensioned against both, and the nut on that bolt will work itself loose after a lot of impacts. No big deal, I just tighten it up with my fingers before or after range day. The target will barely budge when getting hit with .22LR, but everything else makes it flop backwards before it springs back into place. You can adjust the tightness of the nut to change how much the target will flop backwards before the spring pushes it back upright. You have to get big, strong stakes to keep this in the ground. I tried 6mm tent stakes and they just get pulled up by repeated impacts. I then tried these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PQB74J4 and they work well. They are 0.25" (8mm) in diameter. If the ground is wet or loose soil, you have to move the target occasionally because the impacts will wallow the hole in the ground that the stakes are in and the entire target will come loose. If the ground is dried and hard, getting the stakes in and out can be a chore, so you may want to bring a rubber mallet. There are a couple of design flaws, and it's the fact that spalling will start to build up on the black metal baseplate over time. Not a huge deal since I think that if the spalling eventually chews away the front edge of the baseplate, it will still be held in the ground well enough. On that note, the spalling that happens on the ground in front of the target will eventually cut a trough into the dirt, and this pop-up target is front heavy, so it may start to lean forward more and more if your stakes aren't long enough and a thick enough diameter to keep the baseplate from wobbling back and forth and working itself loose. The only other issue I have experienced is that the stake heads are apparently not 100% protected by the target. I managed to miss the target and hit the head of one of the four stakes, and it ruined that one stake. I love this target, it adds a lot of fun to range day, and after letting a bunch of other people shoot it with various calibers, I know what it can hold up to now.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value!
*by on Reviewed in the United States April 11, 2024*

So far these have been great and I have had no issues. I mainly use these with pistol ammo and there is no visible dents in the steel. I have also used 300blk 125gr 2350fps ammo and again no visible damage. The steel appears to be AR500. The only weak point might be the spring that return the steel to the vertical position. It does a good job but does not appear very robust and, if needed, where a replacement could be procured.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very sturdy, nearly indestructable when proper ammo and distances used
*by on Reviewed in the United States February 13, 2025*

These only need re-paint once you set them up. I screwed two of them to my berm railroad ties and the reset every time and have a good impact sound that is easily heard 100 yds away with hearing protection.
