I pre-ordered it. I have Shelter and HomeWork, and I love both of them. Shelter II rounds out the collection. Shelter II doesn't have color pages, but then again Shelter doesn't have many either. Shelter II does have Mongolian yurts and gypsy vans as well as many other indigenous shelters, and it has lots of building information. I'm thrilled to have another Shelter Publication to enjoy. Thank you, Lloyd Kann!Shelter and HomeWork and Shelter II will inspire those who wish to live simply...whether or not you wish to build your own shelter. These books simply speak to the soul. You do not need to be a builder to enjoy them. I have gotten more pleasure out of reading these books and looking at the pictures than any other books in my collection. If you have a builder on your gift list, all of these books are a must-have. But the books will also speak to those interested in alternative housing, indigenous shelters, or on-the-road lifestyles.If you must have color pages, buy HomeWork. If you don't mind black and white, buy Shelter and Shelter II. I highly recommend all three. If you want to build a house, you must have Shelter II. It includes an abbreviated 24-page construction manual and lots of inspiration. I was expecting this to be another in the same vein; I didn't expect what this book really is about - and therein lies the problem. I would suggest folks know what they are getting. This is great to add to your Lloyd Kahn collection of classics, but it is a republish of older material. The pictures are black and white, and he and his team have come a long way since this was first released in terms of design and typeface layout. I wouldn't return it, and for what it is: I am satisfied - I just think that I was expecting something else, more colorful, more like the other books of his that I have (Like the Tiny House book that he has in the works - Can't Wait!), and if I had known what I was really getting it would have kept me from being disappointed (in the lack of color) at what I got before I even really got into it and started enjoying the material that is presented. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great part of history. *by D***L on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 7, 2013* Almost anyone interested in the history of housing has the original book Shelter, most of us had heard that there were planed further volumes, but didn't have access to them. How this "blast from the past" comes to partially fill that gap.
