## Description

Building on the heritage of the renowned 20 Series line of studio microphones, Audio-Technica&39;s new AT2005USB is an all-purpose microphone designed to take you from the stage to the studio and beyond. This rugged handheld microphone offers two outputs, USB output for digital recording, and an XLR output that connects with a sound system&39;s conventional microphone input for use in live performance. The microphone plugs right into your computer&39;s USB port, and functions seamlessly with your favorite recording software. The AT2005USB also offers a quality analog-to-digital converter for excellent fidelity, and a headphone output with level control for monitoring. Its cardioid polar pattern reduces pickup of unwanted sounds from the sides and rear. The microphone is ideal for live performance, podcasting, home studio recording, field recording, and voiceover use. .

Review: I didn't do much with the mic (so this review is not for the mic itself, which is supposed to be good) because when this came through the seller had smashed everything together in a plastic bag that was too small for it all and he damaged the pop filter and poked holes in the microphone box. It all looked like a return, and yes, he actually shoved that entire pop filter into the bag you see in my photo. The nylon had pulls in two places and the frame was warped. I had to peel the bag off the box to get it out. When I finally got out the microphone, I discovered the pop filter didn't even fit the microphone stand so there was no way I could attach it. Utter rubbish. Skip the third-party seller package and just buy the microphone and a separate pop filter.
Review: I'm not in love with this mic yet but still assessing. For the money it does give some options. It's close mic proximity is a plus as initially I wanted to deal with a noisy environment. It does at least for me require more preamp gain than I would like but that may be inherit in this model of dynamic as well as the way I have used so far which is going through a mixer feeding analog in to my computer. I have used it plugged straight in via USB and it's signal is hotter and sound is cleaner which makes sense. This is not my primary mic. I do think it will make a usable secondary but as said still assessing.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What Kind Of Headphones are supplied with this?**
A: The headphones that come with this bundle are Samson HP 10's, and although they're low priced headphones; I use them for competitive gaming and get audio feedback that rivals high end gaming headphones. The only immeadiate drawback is that the ear pads are not the the most comfortable befoe breaking them in.

**Q: Is there on off button? Can’t find any switch. Recently bought it my mic is not working. Please help.**
A: No it’s not an on or off button. But you might have to settings, sound and make sure your input and output is right.

**Q: does the shock mount fir the audio technica at4040**
A: Yes, the shock mount fits the AT4040 mic.

**Q: Can it work for streaming ?**
A: Yes, this microphone works great for streaming as it is a simple plug and play microphone with excellent pick-up and quality. Depending on the set-up you have you may want to consider buying an arm and shock mount to avoid movement issues and some soundproofing foam like with any other microphone. Also double check your record items under your sound settings as by default these won't select the microphone.
