Review: TikTok made me buy it - Heard about this on TikTok and I decided to check it out. Lots of discussions about temporary packaging due to shortages and high demand everywhere I looked. This packaging is terrible and just sloppy. The sponge soap is wrapped in a cardboard and then placed inside a plastic cellophane wrapper… the yucky part is the cardboard is damp(?) and discolored from either the moisture of the sponge or the oils from the soap and is stuck to the bar. It’s rather disgusting and I wouldn’t buy this off a shelf in a store looking like this. I have no way of knowing if this is genuine because I haven’t used this product before, so I don’t know what to compare it to; but also I have seen mentions of this temporary packaging all over the internet while shopping for this product. But I digress… The soap sponge itself looks of good quality. It’s sort of soft and slightly squishy right out of the box before getting wet. Smell is very soapy but pleasant; reminds me of Dove brand soap smell but not nearly as perfumed. I see people commenting that they use this on their face but I wouldn’t suggest starting there. I used it on the backs of my arms first and found it to be highly exfoliating which is what I was looking for. The soap feels really gritty and this is amplified by the sponge aspect, I think it will really help to exfoliate my skin. After using, my skin is soft and not over-dry, but I will not be using this on my face. Lathers well. Depending on how this works in the long term, I would buy this product again.
