Break lose outer ring (locking) and tighten the inner ring then re-tighten the outer ring on the steering box, where the shaft from the steering wheel goes in. Then check everything else. Overall, A+ ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Fit For My 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ, Made in USA *by S***R on October 1, 2020* The 27 year old factory steering dampener on my Jeep YJ wasn't really doing its job anymore, so I got this to replace it. It is much stiffer than the old worn out one! Driving feels much nicer now, and I don't have to fight with the steering wheel through every pothole on a bad road. The hard part was getting the old tapered bolt out of the tie rod. But once that was removed, installation of this new steering damper was straightforward and I had the jeep back together in 15-20 minutes. I used the included hardware, which was great of them to provide. So far so good! As I mentioned, steering is much better now, and compared to the old one, this felt much beefier than the original. Plus, not that it's necessarily an indicator of quality, but I like the fact this one has "Made in USA" stamped on the housing as well as the box it came in.
