There is a two-piece paper template that they want you to tape together to help assemble the handle. Forget about that and do this instead. First, from the inside of your RV with the door closed, decide where you want the handle to be. Now take a look at it. It consists of two plastic end caps that slide onto a metal middle section. You have to find out where to drill holes in the middle section to screw the end caps in place so that the handle fits your door frame. 1. Slide one of the end caps all the way onto the middle section and draw a line on the back of the section to mark this position. 2. Holding the cap at this position, place it where you want it on the door frame and slide the other cap all the way onto the handle. Now measure how far you would have to slide it over so that it is also where you want it on the other side of the door frame. 3. Remove the end caps and draw another line on the middle section that is one half the distance recorded in step two away from the line you made in step one. Slide the end cap on only as far as this second line and mark the location of its screw hole on the middle section. Drill a 1/8โ€ hole at this point and secure the end cap in place with one of the screws. 4. Hold the handle in place against the door again and slide the other end cap to where you want it on the frame. Holding this cap in place on the middle section, mark its screw hole and attach it. 5. Now that your crossbar handle is assembled hold it in place against the door frame and mark the position of one of the screw holes on one side of the door frame. Drill a hole there and attach the handle with a screw. Rotate the handle into position and mark a screw hole on the other side of the door. Attach it with another screw. Drill holes for the two remaining screws and youโ€™re done. **Q: Will this work if you have Lippert suresteps installed , the type that fold inside trailer?** A: Mine is working fine with the fold up sure steps. I don't know the brand of steps but my camper is a 2019 model and has those steps. The handle does not hit or rub. **Q: what can I use on the outside of my rv door to protect it from the wind? wind blows it out of my hand** A: There's a white wall door stop (N213-561 V337),made by National Hardware, which you can buy here on Amazon. **Q: What is the height of the handle?
