I love the texture of the Beauty Blender, but prefer the flat side of the Real Techniques sponge. This Beauty Junkees sponge is the best of both of those put together. I heard a YouTuber say that if the Beauty Blender and Real Techniques sponge had a baby, this Beauty Junkees sponge would be it. I absolutely agree! The texture is the closest I have ever found to the Beauty Blender (I really can't tell a difference between the two!), and it has that flat side from the RT sponge that I love. One thing that always bothered me about the RT sponge is that I never felt I could get enough water out of it - it always felt a little too "wet" to me. With this sponge, you can get as much water out it as the BB, and it also absorbs little to no product. So I get my BB texture with my RT flat side. It's a complete win/win!I read that some people have had problems with getting little black specks on their face after using this. I noticed that also the first few times I used it, but haven't had a problem since (and those few times I was able to quickly and easily flick the specks away). I think it just needs to be "broken in" because I haven't had that issue again, and I have used it quite a bit at this point. Overall, this is definitely my favorite sponge that I have ever used. I prefer the shape of the Real Techniques sponge, however, so I was really glad to find an even more inexpensive sponge from Beauty Junkees. I would say the BJ sponge is a bit denser than the RT or BB but it's still very soft when wet and blends my foundation just as well as the RT or BB. I've tried the pink tear drop sponge from Beauty Junkees but wasn't a fan of how dense it was because that made it less bouncy during application and difficult to clean. I used the BJ black contour sponge daily (washing after each use) for about 6-7 weeks before it started to fall apart. For me, that's the typical lifespan of a RT sponge as well. If you buy a 4-pack, it ends up being $3 per BJ sponge, which is cheaper than the RT sponge at $6. Have used this for one week, rinsed and cleaned it gently every day, and it is already falling apart and leaving little black dots all over the face. Very disappointing. The flat edge seemed to be not very cleanly cut (compared to the Miracle Blending Sponge that I also use, from Real Techniques). Think I will stick with RT - they both work the same, but RT seem to last a lot longer.
