If one is adding the buffer to an established tank with fish, I would start gradually, with small doses at first [as we lost a fish when dumping the entire dose in at once].

Using this to augment the sand for Tanganyika shellies. Seems to work well, keeping the pH at ~7.5-8. If one is adding the buffer to an established tank with fish, I would start gradually, with small doses at first [as we lost a fish when dumping the entire dose in at once].
