This silencer uses a bolt-on adapter. The tailpipe on the stock muffler is not the proper size and therefore an adapter is necessary. Simply remove the bolts at your exhaust opening (there will be 3 or 4) and replace the exhaust tip with The Silent Rider bolt on adapter. The adapter stays attached to your factory muffler and acts as the tailpipe. The adapter will not damage the engine or affect the flow of the exhaust. The product definitely quiets my 2008 450 Grizzly engine noise. Highly recommend it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works *by on Reviewed in the United States September 8, 2013* Put this on my '09 Yamaha Grizzly 350. It is definitely quieter now; I'd say about 30% quieter. You'll notice the sound reduction most when you're at least 20 yards from the running ATV. It sounds a lot further away than it is. Great for hunters. Caveat: this silencer does NOT work with a rear drop basket (at least not on my ATV) because it projects a few inches too far to the rear. Overall, I like it, although this product is pretty pricey for a 1/3 sound reduction.
