It's not as complicated as it may seem. The tailpipe on the stock muffler is not the proper size and therefore an adapter is necessary. The Silent Rider can still be easily installed and removed, as only the adapter is permanent. The adapter will not damage the engine or affect the flow of the exhaust. A low temperature weld, such as a wire or mig weld is recommended. If you don't weld or have a buddy who welds, your dealer or a muffler shop can attach the adapter for a nominal fee. The silencer pressure fits onto the adapter.
