When hay was more of stacks, our barn had a rail at the peak and a large rope with pulley. Pull it up, then across to where you want to drop it. This would be difficult to attach a bail and since it has multiple pulleys, it would take a very long time to raise. Then the problem of getting it in the loft would be a hassle and a hazard of falling out the loft door/window. **Q: How long is the rope** A: Not sure, comes with cheap small diameter plastic rope. Don't get your ropes fangled though and it doesn't like heavy carcasses, more truthfully the hooks aren't strong enough and bend . When a hook bends straight on one side it's all a bit of afk up.
