It is designed for everyday home use and removes dust mites and debris from the air. Whenever you are choosing an air filter, make sure that you compare the nominal and actual size of the furnace filter that you are replacing. In this case, the ‘nominal’ size of the filter is 12x16x1 while the ‘actual’ size of the filter is 11.5 x 15.5. Generally, the nominal size is rounded and in bigger print while the actual size is in smaller print and in parenthesis to the side. The AFB Bronze filter is designed to last 3 months, or 3 times the average fiberglass filter. Each quantity purchased is for a pack of 2 filters. Note that AFB filters come in AFB Bronze (Merv 6), AFB Silver (Merv 8), AFB Gold (Merv 11), and AFB Platinum (Merv 13). The most commonly used filter for home or business use is the AFB Silver (Merv 8). If you have pets or allergies we recommend the AFB Gold (Merv 11). If you have asthma or other respiratory illness, we recommend the Merv 13.FilterBuy: Breathe Better! ## Features - 12x16x1 pleated ac furnace air filters. Every aspect of the filters I purchased failed to meet the original equipment measurements required to work properly. I boxed them up and immediately returned. Absolute junk. Why this company will not spend a few more pennies per filter to make them correctly and to the proper size that they advertise I just don’t know? But if you do buy these please understand they will fit very loosely in the air handler unit, meaning they will not filter all of the air since there are going to be large gaps around the filter itself allowing unfiltered air to pass around it. Over time this can damage your equipment since it doesn’t catch all of the pollen, dust and dirt that we are intending to filter out in the first place. I cannot recommend this brand. Sad and misleading manufacturer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great for Allergy Sufferers & Smelly Food Neighbors *by K***N on Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2017* I've used this filter for a month before posting a review.Within the first week we noticed a drastic change in the apartment for both our seasonal allergies. This filter arrived right as Spring was rearing it's evil little head and pollen was everywhere and in everything. Plus we also acquired a neighbor that cooks fried food which seems to penetrate through into our place. Now it's rare we smell the neighbor's meals anymore, the presence of pollen in our apartment has severely dropped, and the dust itself seems rather tame in contrast to before its installation. We have an unusual size filter for the bedroom and living room. These do an excellent job, just ignore the odd packaging which has stickers over previous labels where there was an apparent mix up in size.Mine arrived with the filter slightly contorted, but was easy to remedy with a little manipulation. Hasn't overall appeared to cause any issue. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality USA made filters *by J***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2018* These appear to be high-quality filters and made in USA, which is very important to me.We need to buy USA made goods and keep our money at home, so it can go to employ folks who in turn spend money at home. And they pay taxes at home, supporting our economy. In addition, packing was excellent, and they arrived in a reasonable amount of time- 5 days. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/28484103-afb-bronze-merv-6-12x16x1-pleated-ac-furnace-air-filter](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/28484103-afb-bronze-merv-6-12x16x1-pleated-ac-furnace-air-filter) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
