Screen blank completely when not in use. **Q: Can this stand up by itself** A: No. It is magnetic and sits upright on our fridge but, as the video shows, it rolls if you try to stand it up on its own. When I take it elsewhere, I have to lie it flat. The numbers DO NOT flicker as the video suggests, the numbers are large and clear at all times. The metal edges were cool to the touch, much more premium feeling than other timers that use plastic.It even came with batteries - a steal at £9.99 when I bought it but even at £12.99 I would still buy it without hesitation.I use it as a pomodoro timer for work but it does have magnets on it to stick onto things, and they support the weight of the timer and smooth swivel wheel means it's strudy as you twist to set the duration.Bright screen, responsive as soon as you turn the dial, has an eco mode and 3 different sound settings.Yet to see how battery life will be in the long run. I DO use mechanical timers as well.I had always wondered WHAT IF there was a mechanical DIGITAL timer!?!?! THIS IS IT!OH MY GOSH This is so flipping amazing! GET ONE LOLyou DO need to sort of learn it's temperment! You CAN get it to be very precise (turning the time up or down!) you just need to slow down is all. You can ALSO reset - by 'long press/hold' and it resets to 00.You can ALSO!! have it be a stop watch! (I usually would use my phone for that but can easily do it on that now too!)The batteries that came with - died relatively soon after receiving it. I've since put in my rechargeables!It takes 3 AAA's and haven't had any issues since.It makes this sort of dying beeping sound as the batteries go! LOL I had to look around my flat to see what was doing that! WOW ok timer, change batteries. I think I got the timer about 3 weeks prior to that point which is NOT a long time.GET ONE they're SO COOL and SO great to have! I might get a second one for additional cooking/prep things. Accurate as both a timer and a stopwatch.Not so easy to set because it is so sensitive, it is easy to move dial from 18 to 98 minutes with just a small movement so it is important to check the numbers before starting.
