They're simple, easy to set up and use, and provides that extra insurance, in case something happens like another vehicle purposely causes an accident, a hit and run scenario, a cop pulling you over to place you under arrest for false pretenses, going thru a yellow light but getting a ticket for a red light, or any number of accidents on the road. Its basically a BLACK BOX for the car. Some dash cams have GPS positioning, and track MPH, which then plays back on your computer. This dashcam is more of an economy model. You'll be protected in case of accidents, hit and runs, and any other situation like that. The last five minutes is on a loop, always recording then being overwritten on the SD chip. (chip included) If the car is hit, it will record the incident, and keep it from being overwritten. Whether the car is parked, or moving, it records a sudden jolt onto the chip permanently. I've noticed that when you go over a pot hole, that the feature that detects a hit will record the incident. (Since a pothole will shake the car, like a fender bender might.) That's the worst thing about these. You'll need to delete the false accidents, when you hook the cameras into your computer, to see how it's working.INSTALLATIONThe DEXORS dashcam only takes a few minutes to set up. Some of these cameras, you glue directly on the windshield, which I don't like. This one, adheres with a suction cup. Please follow the directions, then the suction cup with the camera mount will work properly. (Clean the windshield, get the suction cup a bit wet, etc.) Once the camera is where you want it, usually in the blind spot behind the rear view mirror, you just run the power line down to your cigarette lighter, and plug it in. There's not much more to it than that. Maybe you'll be able to prove your innocence in a courtroom, or maybe not. Like car insurance, dashcam footage is only something you use in certain situations. But wouldn't it be great to have this camera running, just in case you do see bigfoot walking across the road, or a UFO lands in front of your car in the middle of the night. There you'll have your video proof. The high def wide angle lens will capture whatever appears thru your front windshield.I was provided a product at little or no cost in exchange for a fair and honest review. ### ⭐⭐ restart it and its fine until next time it happens which could be 5 ... *by C***M on Reviewed in the United States on August 9, 2016* 2 weeks of use and the plug connection at the camera became loose and caused the camera to turn off and on constantly, I took some light duty wire and had to tie it up so it would function correctly, PLUS, out of the blue the camera will stop recording and lock up, push any button you want and it does nothing, i have to unplug the camera and let the battery run out, restart it and its fine until next time it happens which could be 5 minutes or the next day. PLUS the video is very wavy on playback. I began using my GOPRO as a back up because i might throw this one out the window at any minute.
