**Q: Is your d-pad joycon shell kit for the (1) classic 1989 gb dmg-01 (2) or sfc snes classic eu based on the "new hope gray" color?**
A: No. they are different from the "new hope gray" color.

**Q: Any plans to release a solid "light gray" or "new hope gray" for your d-pad joycon shell?**
A: Sorry we don't have that plan yet. :(

**Q: Do you plan on making/restocking this in new hope grey?**
A: Wouldn't that be a question for the manufacturer?

**Q: Is the d-pad ok without the padding? When I was dissassembling the Joycon there was no padding for the direction buttons where the d-pad goes.**
A: I wouldn't recommend it because then the d pad button piece will rub against the board with all the circuitry. To me, that might run it. The rubber pad creates that sort of protection.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ High-Quality Joy-Con Shells with Great Design, But Challenging Installation for Beginners

I recently purchased these shells for my Joy-Cons and was impressed by their quality, appealing design, and reasonable price. The final result looks great, though the installation process was a bit tricky—this is more due to the complexity of working with small electronics rather than any flaw with the product itself. With prior experience disassembling devices like the Switch, Steam Deck, and laptops for repairs or upgrades, I found the process manageable but still challenging.The kit includes useful tools, such as extra screws, springs, and a screwdriver with both Phillips and Y-head bits, which were appreciated. However, I would have liked needle-nose tweezers to be included, as they made handling small components much easier (luckily, I had my own). The installation guide on their website was helpful, but it referenced a slightly different version of the kit, which added some unnecessary steps and caused minor confusion at first. That said, it’s still a good tutorial overall.I don't often write reviews, but this product deserves one. I highly recommend it and might even pick up another set for my second pair of Joy-Cons. That said, if you don’t have experience with electronics repair, this may not be the best project to start with.

I was surprised how soft the shell felt! I like how it comes with the screwdrivers you need and their own screws. It fits perfectly and I love the colors. Took me a little but bc it was my first time, but it wasn't super difficult to figure it out.

I get plenty of compliments on my Joy-Cons when I bring my console out with me. Love the nostalgia feel too, I used to play with this same controller color scheme on SNES when I was a kid, so I’m very happy!Disclaimer: This does require some in-depth installation, being that it’s just a shell for the Joy-Cons. Installation experience and space is recommended.
