## Description

Product description Warm tip 1.It comes with o ring. The green o-ring as shown in picture. If the O-ring of the new item is not suitable, you can use the O-ring on the old sensor. Or you can apply to replace a new O-ring. 2.when changing the temp sensor it is not necessary to do a coolant flush 3.Remember to reset the Car computer with high-end OBD scanner or else it may not work properly. 4.You will want to have some coolant because removing this sensor will drain out coolant. Be sure to refill and bleed your coolant system. The following problems can be solved Didn't have to replace the thermostat housing. Stopped your car from overheating，Stopped the leak. Position This part is located on the driver's side of the engine bay just below the plastic air duct that runs from the turbo to mass air flow sensor and air box. Installation suggestions You don’t have to remove fluid to install, but make sure to have a rag ready In case. Method1:Just pull the metal clip and disconnect electrical connector, then pinch side plastic sides to release from the metal elbow. Note a part model has it in the elbow separate from the thermostat housing that other models use. Method 2:Took about five minutes to install . Towel under the hose, slide the connector clip back, pull the connector off. Squeeze the two plastic holder clips together, pull up firmly. Push the new switch in, be sure to wiggle it slightly to get the ring set. Reinstall the connector, done. Size Inside diameter:0.27” Outer diameter: 0.51” How to test pressure and find leaks in the cooling system? Get yourself a coolant system pressure tester. pump up the pressure as much as you can not passing 10 psi which if you have a least you won't be able to anyways. And as you're pumping look and listen for any coolant coming out of any hoses, radiator, sensor, or even engine. If you have a coolant leak you won't even be able to put any pressure. If you don't have a leak and or to test if you fixed it you should sustain at least 5 or 10 psi without losing any pressure. Just make sure when you testing it you don't pass 10 to 15 psi as it's not needed and you could damage something. If you have to add coolant every week check the outlet on the bottom of the radiator for your BMW. There's a very good chance that after a couple hundred thousand miles the o-ring on your temperature sensor is worn just enough to cause a leak. Keep your radiator and reservoir cap on while doing this. Remove the sensor wire from above. Place a pair of long needle nose pliers and grip the center of the existing sensor edge. Depress the two ears and pull straight out. There will be very little spillage so don't worry about getting air in your system. Insert the new sensor with the knob on the top facing out from the front of the vehicle. Replace the thermostat wire connector. Open the cap on the reservoir for coolant and (P h i l) so the probe is sticking up a couple of inches. Review: Fits my 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman S - I installed this in my 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman S. The car was throwing the code for coolant temp sensor. I popped this one in, cleared the code from the car with a simple code reader and it has been great. I originally purchased a sensor from the dealer. They used the VIN to let me know which sensor I needed. The dealer was wrong but not really their fault. Some of these cars had revisions mid production and they put a different sensor in them. Our VIN called for a sensor that has an angled plug coming off of the metal base but that does not work. The straight plug I bought here works. Hopefully this helps if you are in the same predicament I was in. The only thing I had to do to this part in this listing is the tabs on the side that lock the part in place where ever so slightly to big. I filed the plastic on the tabs just a tiny tiny bit and this part snapped right into place. I just finished a 700 mile road trip with the part from this listing and zero issues. Just a side note which has NOTHING to do with this part. There are other plugs you have to remove to get to this part. If you do not get them plugged in all the way it will cause computer to throw a new code for "Crankcase breather Circuit Open." Make sure you get all of your small plugs pushed back together VERY well and it will fix that code. In the pictures the angled sensor is the one from the dealer and the straight sensor is the one i removed from my car. Dealer said this part is located in the thermostat housing but that is not correct either. This sensor is located in the metal elbow located just next to the thermostat housing. I included a picture of this as well. The mid year revision to these cars made this way more complicated than it had to be Shame on Mini Cooper for not updating their system to show the actual parts these cars need.
Review: Good part - Good replacement, easy to install, but it didn’t fix the P0128 low temp fault which is probably caused by the other temp switch which is located on the engine block under the manifold and a much harder fix.
