As if sleep isn't a good enough reason, the Snoogle also helps with the agita, as I can prop myself up a bit at night, and my restless legs can rest a little easier with the bottom part between my knees. However, after surgery I could only sleep on my back because my incisions and internal stitches hurt sleeping any other way. I needed something that provided a bit more support and versatility. At first I purchased 2 memory foam wedges; one for under my knees and one for my head and upper back. I couldn't even get through one night with those...they were soooo uncomfortable it just made matters worse! A week later I actually ended up in the hospital again with an almost fatal case of peritonitis. Luckily, I made it through but while I was there a nurse suggested this pillow, saying it was a more versatile, bigger, more comfortable Boppy. I was happy to find it here on desertcart for such a great price. I did wash the cover right away because it had a very new, plastic smell, but it was definitely from the packaging and not the pillow itself. The cover is a little tricky putting on the the first time, but if you put it on like you'd put on pantyhose, it's much easier. The pillow itself is firm but not overly so that it's in any way stiff or uncomfortable. It's still squishy, but not so much that it collapses and loses its fluffiness or support during or after use. Granted, I just got it so we'll see how the stuffing stands up after having it awhile. The cover is pretty simple in design making it an easy sewing project should you choose to customize it instead of trying to find new covers for it. From reading reviews, it was clear they are not a one size fits all solution and I was so worried about choosing the wrong one and hating it. Finally, I got to the point (24 weeks) where I could not get comfortable at all lying down and had to make a choice. I went with the Snoogle, as it seemed to have the most overwhelmingly positive reviews. I am SO glad I did! It was the best money spent this pregnancy, hands down!!! From the very first night, I was able to sleep well with it and actually get comfortable. It supports me in all the right places (I hadn't realized how important under belly support is) and even instantly reduced my daytime SPD pain! It felt kind of miraculous, really. I was worried that I wouldn't like it as a head pillow, because I am generally picky about pillows, but it works perfectly. The fact that the Snoogle is a perfect fit...it may be relevant that I'm only 5'2. At 34 weeks, I still use it every night. There is only one thing I would change about it. The pillow case it comes with it scratchy and awful and I wouldn't dream of using it. (I'm extremely sensitive to fabrics.) It also doesn't have a zipper, so it would be a hassle to put on and off. I bought their 100% cotton (Chic) cover, with a zipper, instead. And while it is better than what came with it, I'm disappointed in the lack of softness, considering the price. I do put one of my own super soft king sized cases over the part where my face touches. Despite that, I would not hesitate to recommend this product.
