Ps5 games will need installing to the internal drive(s) but for your old PS4 games, yes this will work fine as will any external USB hard drive or SSD **Q: What is the difference between the call of duty version and the standard version?** A: None **Q: Is this a good external ssd for ps5 games storage?** A: It will work but I purchased the WD_Black D10 8TB external drive for £164.99 from Amazon, which is cheaper with ten times the storage, works great, PS5 games take up a lot of storage. You can store PS5 games then transfer to internal storage to play ( only takes few minutes) but PS4 game play direct from external drive. Used it for several months with no issues. The PC has a 500GB HDD but only a 250GB SDD. It’s connected by USB 3 as I don’t have USB C but still runs fantastically. I currently have ARMA 3 and loads of its mods loaded on the drive and it loads and plays absolutely fine, better than the HDD.
