The school put down artificial turf and the rubber pellets were getting in his cleats. Other than getting them on, they work just like they are supposed to. The easiest way that I found to get them on was to put on his socks first, put the spats on and push them up above his ankle, put on his cleats, then pull the bottom of the spats over the cleats.Depending on how snug the fit is for the size, this can be challenging. I would recommend you do not dry these in a dryer as they will shrink some and that should help getting them on.The size chart on their listing was spot on for us.
