The green will protect it from dust and dirt but will not keep it dry underneath so whatever that covers will be wet. We try to make sure the heavier, silver part covers the body of the bikes and the gears. Depending on how many bikes you need to cover and their sizes, you may want something bigger. **Q: Would this stay on while bikes are mounted atop SUV travelling?** A: NO!! I used it atop my SUV to travel several hundred miles. The cover began tearing within 100 miles. There are only grommets by the wheel, not througout the cover to allow air to pass through as you drive, so the cover finds ways to break free and shred. Or even better, once parts of the cover break free from under the straps, it inflates like a parachute providing confidence of your secure load to other drivers on the road! lol My bike was attached to my rooftop Thule rack and I had the cover tied down around the bike using ratchet straps and bungee cords, thinking it was wrapped up tight. Within 30 miles of highway driving it began flapping, causing me to stop frequently to assess what was going on. I would retighten, re-wrap and try again. The material is lightweight, like a parachute material but not as durable. If the cover is forced onto any part of the bike with a semi-sharp like surface (chain wheel, end of covered brake cable) while flapping it will puncture and fray. Once the shredding starts it is a lost cause. Don't waste your time or money; this cover is designed for backyard, or outbuilding storage. Go to your local hardware store and buy a tarp. It will withstand the wind of travel speeds and distance. It will give you piece of mind and ensured safety for the other drivers on the road. **Q: What is the length and width of the xxl cover? i cannot understand why this would not be posted by the company!** A: I live in the northeast and my cover is put away for the winter, so I can't help you with any measurements. But I can tell you I have a larger bike and my wife's bike is average size. So, if you plan on putting two adult bikes under this cover get the largest size they offer, which I believe is X-Large. The company advertises that two bikes can be covered with the large cover, but it was to small for me. I had to purchase the X-large size which fits great. I use the large bike cover just for my bike when needed, which fits very well for one large adult or possibly an adult bike and one children bike. But it is made well I've had no issues with the cover other then trying to get the size right with my two bikes. Be aware that with any bike cover, if the bike's aren't in a bike rake and a good wind comes along your bikes will be on the ground. **Q: will this fit my daughter's trike and my other daughter's bike?** A: Really it depends on the size of the tricycle in question. I ride an adult-sized recumbent tricycle - a 2013 Rover, from TerraTrike. It fits under this cover with a bit of room to spare - but not a LOT. I _might_ be able to squeeze an adult-sized two-wheel bicycle under teh cover alongside my trike, but it'd be iffy .... and a very tight fit, even if it worked. If either cycle is kid-sized, though, it should work fine.
