The handle is comfortable and the knife is well made but being wood I personally will not put it in a dishwasher. I have bought several of these as the years have gone by, I think a few may have moved out as children moved, but that's okay since it is a good reliable knife and they should have one too. The blade is just perfect in my opinion, it is great for paring or boning chicken.
