How is it protected from bacteria?** A: There are no preservatives. I use the Bio Sandalwood and Aloe Vera forms. As to your question, the product has a shelf life tag, and the use of bark and root ingredients carry natural anti-microbial properties. I have not had any bacterial issues with my products. However, if you are very light skin, I recommend to reapply the product often as it is easily absorbs in the skin. Being a naturally sourced product, it does not have the titanium or aluminum ingredients which many sunblockers carry, which is why I love this product.
