First I let them go through a rinsing bath on one side of the sink in a big flat box to get most of the earth and sand off, and then I let them through the Ultasonic Ozonator. It also helps to keep the produce longer, since it eliminates molds and all the other dangerous germs and everything in our fridge is ready to eat now!It relieves me of countless hours of standing and scrubbing veggies.It also can be used as a quick in between dish-washer.It fits inside an average sink, but I would not do that because of the electricity. We have it sitting on top right next to it, with the draining hose conveniently tucked over the left basin rim for drainage. I fill it with the side sprayer which I have fitted with a sliding wire ring so it stays on for filling so I have not to hold it all the time.One other very important thing is a fan (or two, left and right) to blow the ozone which is produced out the window - because it would be not good for your lungs ( or you leave the room for the operating minutes)...our fan setup works perfect - I can still do the other chores next by.I was searching a lot for a vegetable washer which can do both, and saw some advertisement from Japan, where it was built-in in the stainless sink, which I thought that would be great, except not existing here.One more feature would perfect the washing task (wishful thinking): an inside moving basket, that moves the produce also while being washed - but we are very happy with what we have in this machine here! It performs so far great - using it daily since approximately a monthUpdate January 2019:still using it nearly daily, performs great....just had to find another hose, which was not easy, had to cut it to leave the outlet piece at the machine site connected and then connected it to another hose going to the sink ### ⭐ Not pleased. *by R***A on February 26, 2017* Very weak user manual.
