We just jumped right in. Husband has worked an action camera before so this was not new to him. Looking at them in hindsight a new user could be intimated but we do feel they are fairly accurate on how to use the camera.This camera is truly ready to go out of the box. It comes with two batteries and a 16 Gb SD card. You don't need anything extra to use it. That is a plus. Nothing extra to buy. Honestly how many other companies in this day and age give you a fully functional item straight out of the box? Not too many.The 1.5 hour battery life times two is some of the longest we've seen out there. We can take this on a Spartan Sprint and have plenty of battery life to get us through. It's even long enough for a Spartan Super. If we're using it to train the WI-Fi capability allows me to use my smartphone to control the camera so I can see that I'm getting the perfect shot.The waterproof case, up to 30 meters, means I can jump into every water obstacle I see and not have to worry. I can also take this on my vacations and get the perfect snorkeling shots. No need to buy another camera. The camera even came with some accessories to help you get started on your adventure filming.Honestly, we get the same quality video as the expensive name brand action camera for half the price. With what I saved I was able to buy a large accessory pack AND another entry into another obstacle course race. Imagine that. The quality of the video is very good. I took a video on a cloudy, fall day and it is crisp and clear. I love all the additions it comes with - though I am hard pressed so far to figure out how to use it all. It did come with a little card describing the attachments but personally I could use some more detailed instructions or at least a web page to go to to get them - videos would be even better. I can't believe I wrote that as I'm normally NOT an instruction reader at all. Anyway, I think it is wonderful that it comes with two batteries and a micro-SD card. It really did come ready to use! The selfie-stick is great, too. Will be fun to use to get various angles. I haven't used the wifi feature yet but am grateful to have it. The normal photos and videos are just so-so quality but under water, the photo and video quality really seem to shine. The buttons are somewhat wonky at times inside the case but they do work and most importantly, the camera stayed dry and worked well, even submerged up to 15-20 feet.
