All the package says is that it is a 0.7 mm lead. If you order the pencils, and you like them, be sure to order extra lead fillers. The pencil only comes with 2 refills. This is a very smooth writing pencil; I think you'll like it. **Q: It looks just like the pentel Sharp. Is there any difference?** A: Pentel is a world famous writing instrument brand. When expert mechanical engineer look at detail parts of the pencil, there may be differences in the parts. And the origin is different. Jovely mechanical pencil is made in korea, and pentel is made in japan. Usually when writing or drafting, you won't notice a big difference. The quality is almost same. They are slim, so they fit nicely in my hand, and they work without having to press hard on them. The only complaint is that they only come with 2 pieces of lead, so you would have to order extra lead, especially if you use them regularly. The first order was lost and I reordered. The second order was lost and I had to reorder. We finally got the pencils about 6 weeks after the first time we ordered them. They are excellen pencils.
