The problem came when I turned them on and lit my neighborhood up like Clark Griswold - these things are way too bright! And they aren't compatible with a dimmer to boot. I ended up taking them down and and returning them, which is unfortunate because I really liked them otherwise. If you need to signal passing airplanes, these are for you. If you want to decorate your house on a quiet cul-de-sac, I'd recommend something else. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ very bright *by C***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 11, 2016* These are very bright. I put three strands in a gazebo and I can read out there at night. If you're looking for just ambience, you won't need many, or you might want to remove some bulbs (they do stay lit with empty sockets). ### ⭐⭐ Bulbs are bright and leak *by S***S on Reviewed in the United States on January 6, 2017* As others have stated, these bulbs are bright, which is not an issue for us. In fact, I liked that they were bright, even though they stood out in our neighborhood. We had these lights up for a few weeks and two of the bulbs stopped working completely and the interior of the bulb turned red. They had leaked and rusted. Upon further review, there were 13 light bulbs that had water inside of them, which is unacceptable.
