The AquaQuest Hideaway Bivy is a 3-season, ultralight single-pole tent designed for serious outdoor pros. ## Description

The stealthy Hideaway rides low to the ground and light in your pack. While compact, it is feature-rich with a TPU window, mesh inner door, and vented headspace. A rapid set-up time and small footprint means that this shelter beats most single-person tents for ease and range of use. Pitches using a single shock-cord pole and 5 stakes; stuff sack included.

Review: Not waterproof - The material gets saturated in the rain and the water starts to soak through into the inside of the bivy. And that was in the garden after only a short time raining. So imagine yourself out on the trail in persistent rain. Also the stiffener in the door flap was twisted out of shape in the stuff sac and it would not go back to the correct position. This means that the zip was not covered properly which creates another vulnerability in rain. Also the footbox is such an odd design. If you peg the flaps out at the end it is too tight on the feet and there isn't really a way to get it into a more suitable position. Lack of lifters etc. I tried different things but nothing worked. I wanted this product to work as I liked the side entry and hoop design but there are too many design flaws in addition to the waterproofing issue (which possibly could be mitigated with some waterproofing spray etc. But it should be waterproof out of the packet). Also it is too expensive for what it is. So a no from me. Returned.

**Q: What are the dimensions of the inside when it is set up?**
A: I’m not sure what the size dimensions are but it was too tight for me.

**Q: How does it do against cold?**
A: We recommend this as a 3 season bivy.

**Q: 2.4 lbs is lightweight?**
A: No it’s not ultra lightweight but it is lightweight compared too a tent. With some design improvements this would be an amazing shelter at 2.4 lbs. I set it up, got in and had my girlfriend hose it down for 5 minutes. No leaks….awesome. But….the material around the hoop frame was curled, which concerns me because it exposes the bug mesh to the environment. I called AquaQuest to question this and they told me it was a packing issue. Too bad…I returned the bivy and suggested they correct this issue. 

I have one of their tarps and have been very impressed with their quality.
