I was so curious how this was going to cut my refrigerated meat. Ease...cut it with ease. Mine unit is brand new so I can't say anything about longevity. I can say, it's a great slicer. Compared to my other two, I just regret I didn't get this sooner. It's built well, and user friendly. I would probably recommend the slicing gloves be worn when you take the blade off.
