Mine just sip until the cup is empty then they stare at it.** A: just let a few drops of water fill the bowl, so the chickens have to hit the yellow float when they drink. They will get the hang of it once they start hitting the float and water slowly fills back up. There should not be any water in the bowls if the chickens are not drinking. If the bowls are full to the top all the time, they are leaking. **Q: Can the waddle cups be changed out so that it is just gravity fed? My chickens will not use it.** A: Gravity feed would require you drill in the bottom and insert nipples. This is not recommended. To get the chickens to use the poultry watering cups do the following: remove all other water sources, bait the yellow stem with something sweet (like strawberry jam) to entice them to hit it---once they hit it they will realize that doing so releases water. **Q: Do you think this would work for quail? Would they be able to push down the plunger?** A: Yes, but if you give them a sand box to play in, they will fill the drinking cups with sand to the point that the plungers will not work. **Q: Can a ducks bill fit in this? Also in the winter does the water freeze or is it okay without a heater?** A: I think that a duck's bill would fit. The little cups are a couple of inches across.. Cleaning is getting easier. I wait until its empty and unscrew the cups. Lining it up to put it back, also getting easier. Have 6 hens and only have to fill it every few days. Have not had it during freezes so might need to update the review. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Unnecessary Crap and Limited Access *by M***R on Reviewed in the United States on 4 March 2021* This is a good product but I wish it came in a larger size, both in terms of gallons and in terms of how many cups. The stickers plastered all over the product proclaim that you can add more cups, but where? how? good luck adding a cup without tearing up the container and the plastic breaking. Also had a problem with the first (I have 3 now) when we had a freeze and the cup would't quit leaking afterwards. Other brands with different style of cups (such as rent a coop automatic waterer) did not have any problem even though they are much older than the Harris Farms product. It would also be nice if you got an extra cup with the product (again, Rent a Coop provides 5 cups with its product so you always have an extra. Not having reliable water for the chickens is really not acceptable but when the cup leaks like that, you lose all the water quickly and then your chickens don't have any water). My main complaint is the stickers. I already bought it - why do you need to glue huge stickers on each side? And why do you glue them on? If you really think it necessary to put something on the container, how about a plain piece of paper fastened with one piece of tape?
